Unfortunately your mother would have to meet the new requirements - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... dependent/Anndeep wrote:I would like to bring my mum as an elderly dependent on my ILR after one year. What all should I do to prepare for this? She is in her 70s, a widow and no other sibling. How can I show that she is financially and emotionally dependent on me? What else do I need to do from now onwards?
The fact that the applicant requires care with everyday tasks can be evidenced with medical evidence. The fact that care is not available could be that the applicant lives in a rural area or that it is too expensive to have someone can and look after her in her property. This could be evidenced by a letter from a social worker.Anndeep wrote:How can I (as UK sponsor) or ECO establish that the elderly dependent relative has no access to care in India? and cannot perform everyday tasks? What documents will be required to prove this?
On one hand UKBA is saying that elderly relative should be incapable of performing everyday tasks themselves such as washing, dressing, cooking. Then the elderly relative should not employ any carer, domestic helper to do this (inspite of sponsor in UK sending money).
How will ECO discern whether the elderly relative has any distant chacha, mama, bhai? What if these relatives are also old and disabled?
You could get the following documents, which one of My friend got to bring an elderly relative for six months.Anndeep wrote:How can I (as UK sponsor) or ECO establish that the elderly dependent relative has no access to care in India? and cannot perform everyday tasks? I can uderstand. If the ECO is given the necessary documents, then your Mum will get the approval. If you could list the documents ,then we could see. Look in Family Members Forum for more details.Anndeep wrote:Thanks, Kevin.
This is not for six months but I want to bring mum permanently to the UK.
She doesn't have any relatives in Delhi and is ageing.
