Yes vague indeed. We received a paper slip with the below sentence ticked as the reason:
“The information submitted regarding the justification of the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable”
No exact reason for reference was given.
My interpretation of the above is why you intend to visit – in our case was stated a holiday, to meet my family etc.
Conditions I assume means accommodation and spending money – Again we had return flight reservations, hotel bookings and evidenced more than enough subsistence.
As some back ground information we have attempted to apply for a visa x 4 occasions:
1 – The embassy provided no guidance and we were not able to contact them by email or phone. This meant she had to go there physically each time. Every time they moved the goal posts.
2- As a result of the above we tried a visa agent who within 2 days had the visa with the same evidence we had tried with on 1st occasion. With the successful visa we had 5 week holiday in Greece where my father stays and she returned before etc all as required, returning passport to embassy on arrival.
3- We tried an agent again and were ripped off.
4- This is the 4th time. We had lots and lots of relevant evidence and also letters. The option for tourist visa, holiday was ticked and explained in letter. She has a home rented for two years in native country so the contract was shown regarding returning. I had my fathers house contract etc and accommodation offer as well booking a hotel.
In my opinion all the areas were covered, our finances are good, past history is good, reason was good.
The visa was refused this time and after my experience with the agent obtaining visa on same docs so quick as well the country the embassy is located in I am starting to conclude that money must be given under the table.
I have a plan to ask my lawyer to call the foreign ministry whilst we will also attempt to reply apply.
Appeals I would assume are too long winded, I which case the holiday will be missed.
National visas are an option but intended for longer stays.
We are very honest people and are looking to do it the simple and correct way.
Any advice would be appreciated.
In the meantime we are attempting to find out exactly why it was turned down and if its because of additional money I need to know.
Unfortunately the embassy is open 10-1300 mon, tue and thur only. To reach them by email is impossible.
Thanks
