Looking For Advice On Potential Immigration Crime

Post by VirtualScotland » Sat Jun 22, 2013 9:47 pm

Hi i know someone who came from South Africa i believe on a UK Ancestor Visa. Funny thing is they have never looked for work and have claimed multiple benefits due to mental health.

Most of this persons family is of German decent. Even stranger they have a UK passport despite none of there parents being born here. There family moved to the Republic of Ireland from South Africa. I'm no expert but non of this seems to stack up with what i know. Should i report this?

Thanks

I find it very sad that people would want to target those with mental health issues.

I have plenty myself. Regardless i don't think it's right someone thinking they can just come over here and lie to drain the welfare system. Because there country don't have the benefits we have over here.

Which is why i'm trying to establish if i have grounds for reporting this to the proper authority's. By getting advice from ppl on here. Cause it all seems very fishy to me.

It's often a myth that 'migrants' are 'draining' the system. Still, if you want to report someone suffering mental health problems you've been given the link.

Sorry that was not a generalizing against all migrants. Personally i don't care where anyone comes from. It's more the brazen self entitlement attitude this person presents that really grinds my gears.

Thanks for the link though.

Well cannot call people evil. We have to try and be civil to one another.

OP i am unable to see any potential immigration offense that you can report.

There are many people who enter the UK on ancestry visa, and later realised they were entitled to British Citizenship, the fact that they are on benefit, does not indicate they are immigration offenders.

If you have suspicion they are claiming benefits to which they are not entitled, the UKBA is not the right forum. You could, if you think it is appropriate contact the benefit agency.

I will personally advice you to forget about this family, as i don't believe they are claiming anything to which they are not entitled.
