i am thinking to apply for for CSI before it's too late

i am separated from my wife already but not divorced .

She lost her job more then 1 month ago . She is now looking for new job online/offline but haven't registered with Job centre yet because she is confident she can find a job without their help

now i would like to apply for CSI but i read in this forum HOME OFFICE rejecting even CSI from well known insurance like BUPA . WSC

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME any INSURANCE COMPANY and PLAN they choose and home office accepted it. I don't want to pay lot of money then home office reject it saying it wasn't enough


2ndly I ( NON EU ) can register both myself and my wife for the insurance and use my address ?

This should be in the EEA section of the forums.

UKBA does not have a list of approved CSI insurers. And does not have written guidelines for how they evaluate insurance. I think you just have to find some insurance which seems plausible. It has to be for both you and your wife.

You can take policies for both of you using your address.

Bupa should be fine. I believe WPA XS (which is quite cheap) was accepted in the past by the HO.

BUPA is so expensive

WPA is actually i was looking for too because they give discount to Self employed people like me

The PLAN i am thinking to choose : Flexible Health

They have 3 plan Essential / Premier / Elite

I am thinking : Premier

if only eu national is out of work and non-eu national partner working, even then you will need to buy insurance for both partners or just for eu national....plz explain...

You need for both. If the EU National would be exercising Treaty rights as self-sufficient based on your earnings, both of you need CSI. If you can prove she was a jobseeker during this period (interview invitation letters, for instance), neither of you would need CSI.

How about if you apply for European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). NHS is issuing it free of cost if you qualify.
UKBA accepts as proof you have comprehensive sickness insurance.

UKBA might consider her as self sufficient person as it states;

"In most circumstances we would expect an EEA national to be economically active within six months. It is highly likely that an individual claiming a right of residence as a job-seeker will also be exercising treaty rights as a self-sufficient person."
