Citizen(through spouse)

Post by Modey » Fri Jul 19, 2013 11:54 am

Dear Friends,
I moved to the UK as the spouse of a British citizen in 2010.I have since re-established myself here. Sometime after getting my Indefinite Leave to Remain earlier this year,I had some serious family argument with my wife.I left home and have since been living with some friends.I have not divorced her.I have never claimed any benefits at all.I will complete my three years residence later this year.Although not living with my wife and if she accepts to sign the naturalization form for me, will I still be able to apply for citizenship after the end of my three-year residence in the UK?

I would appreciate if anyone could help with answer.

She doesn't need to sign the form. You just need the marriage certificate and her passport or Birth certificate, the latter you can request from the register office. Providing you have not been granted a decree absolute you can apply as the spouse of a British Citizen subject to meeting the criteria.
