On ILR, Do I need BRP

Hello,
I am on ILR for the past 5 years and wish to remain on the same in the foreseeable future. My question is - do I need to apply for a BRP and what would be my advantages and disadvantages of the same?
I shall be grateful for your input.

If you don't want to upgrade your ILR to British citizenship then you can continue to hold that old sticker styled ILR along with old and new passport. If you wish you can transfer it to BRP too but its not mandatory.

Thanks for your reply. I am just wondering if there is any advantage to having a Biometric Card over the old styled ILR sticker. Like for Schengen Visa, British Citizen Spouse etc.
