Hello
I am applying online for Tier-4 General.. in the online application there is one question I could not understand .. Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?

I did apply before to extend my Tier 4 residence permit from inside the UK
do I chose yes or no?

and if yes they ask me to provide the reason and the reference number but I don't remember the reference number for the application !!

Yes. An extension application is a leave to remain application.

If you don't remember the ref no., then say that you don't remember the ref no. Isn't it on the endorsement?

thank you vinny

in the guidelines it says
'' This is when you have been to the UK previously and made a formal
application to extend your conditions of stay for whatever reason. You
should also say if you have applied to extend your stay but left the UK
before receiving a reply. Please give the reason for the application and
why you were refused, if applicable, in the box provided. You must
enter your Home Office reference number which is prefixed with the
first letter of your family name, for example Smith = S12345.''

I don't have any number with my initial I just have the case ID for the last extension which is 9 numbers without any letters .. do I write that

Sometimes, they write your Home Office reference on the back page of your passport or it may on any correspondence letters from them.

yes I have the last letter I received from the home office after the last extension and it is like that:

Our Ref: 147xxxxx
your Ref: ( blank, nothing in front this section)
case ID: 0147xxxxx( same number as our ref but there is 0 before the number)

do I just write the number in front of our ref

That may be it.

In the past, the Home Office Ref had the first initial of the surname as a prefix. Perhaps they changed their format?
