Maintenance for a visitor/family member ??

Post by huqqapani » Sat Aug 31, 2013 1:42 pm

My sister in law (who is a BC) is planning to call her mother from Pakistan. Her mother (my mother in law) has been in UK 2 times before. Both times my sister in law was working so there were no issues in calling her here (as she had a job and provided payslips/statements to show HO that she can support her whilst on her visit).

Only this time round, she has been out of work for over a year due to child birth. She owns her home.

Question:- She wants to know whether she can apply to call her same as before and this time I show the maintenance requirements (such as payslips/statements and a letter to confirm that I am happy to support her financially although she will be staying with her daughter). Is this acceptable?

Members, please advise as soon as possible as she needs to make arrangements.

Why dont you sponsor your mother in law instead of your wife.''

As you work, earn a salary and have a home of your own, you can easily do it

Thanks batleykhan

I could do that however I thought chances of my sister in law applying to call her mother are more as she already has called her in UK twice.

Me being non settled person I thought she can call her mum as family member although I don't know whether there are differences between applying for visitor or family member?

What would I need if I were to call her, especially funds. Also I'm currently renting, so Would I need council letter to say whether a visitor can live in my house or landlord consent will suffice?

You need to be patient, if someone wishes to answer they will in due course.
