Hi all,
From the requirements to apply for Tier – 2 VISA is to pass and get 10 point for the English language.
I have been awarded two qualification that was taught in English. However on the online point system the two degrees shown zero for the English language and I must score 10 points for English language
I spoke to UK NARIC and mentioned the two universities and I was told they can work to check and issue a Statement of Comparability for my Engineering degree.
Do you know why on the online system it shown zero and by phone the UK NARIC mentioned they can work on that?

You will not get the 10 points for English if you are not
- a national from a majority English speaking country
-hold UK Bachelor degree-equivalent qualification (or above) that was taught in English
- passed an approved English language test
If you do not want to claim points for English language skills (your application will be refused).
As you hold a degree from Egypt, (which is not majority English speaking country), you can not claim any points for English Skill.

Thanks for the information.
Holding a degree from Egypt is not a reason not to claim any points for English skills. If you checked the pointing system you will find that universities as AUC and Cairo universities and more are ok for someone to claim the 10 points.
My questions is basically not for that direction. I am saying why on the scoring system I can’t claim the 10 points, however the UK NARIC asked me to submit an online application to look after as I might get the 10 points easily….

claiming points for a degree from Cairo University is fine but if you want to claim points for "Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport", you will not get any, though it is on the list. You can find most of the major universities on the list but not all of them are eligible. This is what my little understanding.

U can try with UK Naric but did they say that they will find some solution to your problem? I mean they can only confirm that your degree is equivalent to UK degree but I don't think they can help you to get comparison of English skill.

The scoring system might not be updated. I am saying so because an MBA holder form the same university is claimed for the 10 points. I have submitted an online application with the UK NARIC. I will let you know....Thanks.....

raynold Hi,
i Received a UK Naric confirmation now that my Engineering degree (Arab Academy) is considered comparable to a British degree standard as per UK NARIC.....and i got a formal document form the university that medium language was taught in English....This means I hold a degree that was taught in English and is equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree.
But I am wondering if this is the case, why i score zero on the pointing system.
