60 plus Oyster card -for parents ****

Post by hemendra » Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:27 pm

I am a British Citizen and My parents are here on visitor visa and i would like apply for 60 Plus Oyster card for them .but on their visa it says no resource to public fund .
I would like to know , whether or not obtaining a 60 plus Oyster Card would amount to my parents having recourse to public funds and therefore result in them being in breach of their visa conditions .i have also checked on UKBA website but nothing is very clear .

please help

Looking forward to hear from you soon

Have you checked that they meet the other requirements ie there main home is London? As a visitor i don't think they will meet the requirement.

some of the other requirements are here http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/servic ... uments.htm.

The terms are similar.Your London home needs to be your 'sole' or 'principal' residence, which means you live there the majority of the time.

If they are vistors to the UK their main residence, by definition, cannot be in a London borough.

Claiming the 60+ Oyster card would not be a claim on public funds but would no doubt be sanctionable by TfL under some term in the small print
