General Visitor Visa

Post by pravin123 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 1:14 pm

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 1 General visa and my visa is valid until March 2014. I will be applying for ILR in Feb 2014. I would like to sponsor visa for my Mother in law as my wife is excpecting to deliver baby in March. I want my Mother in Law to be here in February 2014. Please can you clarify on the below mentioned options.

1. If i apply for her visa before i get my ILR, will her visitor visa be issued only till March 2014 as my visa is till March 2014?

2. If the visa is only issued till March 2014, can i consider second option. can any of my friends or relatives sponsor the visa for my mother in law. Would this be a problem? As in the Visa application form there is question to check if the visitor has got anyother relatives in UK. If we mention that the visitor's daughter in law and son are in UK but they are not sponsoring her trip, will it lead to rejection of the visa.

Thanks in advance.

If visa application is successful the visitor will get max of 6 months , regardless of your visa expiry.

But better explain in your covering letter that what you going to do in UK after your visa expiry.
