Queries on filling online application

Hi All,

I am applying for UK visa under Tier 1 General Dependent Category. I am currently unemployed and based out of India(outside UK) and in the process of filling the online application form.

I am not very clear while I am filling few questions in the Financials and Employment section of the online form and would need inputs or help to understand the right context/intent for the below questions. Really appreciate if anyone can provide more insight .


1) Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants?

2)Do you receive income from any other sources, including friends or family?

3)Do you have savings, properties or other income for example, from stocks and shares?

4)How much of your monthly income is used to support your family members?

5) How much do you spend each month on living costs?

You are filling the application as yourself, so you should be providing answers to those questions as yourself. The context is for UKBA to understand if you are employed or unemployed, if unemployed who is supporting you financially? What are your sources of income? etc...

Also make sure you are applying as a PBS Tier 1 General Migrant - Partner.

Thank you. In my case since I am unemployed, my husband is supporting all my financial needs. For questions #1 ,4 & 5, what should be filled ideally as I don't contribute.

If you had selected PBS Tier 1 General Migrant - Partner, and also the option 'Unemployed', you shouldn't be seeing question 1. (I just logged in and filled up until section 6 to verify this)

If you had said yes to question 2, then for question 4, state how much of that income is used for family members, if none is used, then just say none.

For question 5, state how much you spend each month on living costs, such as food, rent, expenses etc.

I have selected the following options while filling the form as you mentioned.

Type of Visa- Work
Purpose of Application-PBS Tier 1 General
Type of Application- Tier 1(General) Partner

# Question-1: This comes under "Section 7 - Additional Information" in the online form. Sorry if I misstated the wrong section details in my previous post for this.

#Question-2: my answer to this will be No as I am unemployed.
#Question-4 & 5-my answer will be None as my answer to Question-2 is No.

Correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Ok, question 1 in Section-7, actually states,
1) Please state the amount of money available to you and total number of dependants?

State how much funds is available to support you and that there are no dependants other than you apart from the main applicant.

question 2 should be yes, as you state your husband supports you financially.

question 5 should have a valid answer, even if you are unemployed, you do spend some money monthly on living costs, even if it is provided for by your husband.
