I am plannning to apply for my entry clearance from the US, but I don't have a valid US visa stamped on my passport. The stamping that I have on my passport has expired. My US work permit expired and I have applied for an extension. Legally, one can work in the US after filing an extension. Now, will the British consulate accept the proof of extension (Receipt of extension from US Immigration) and provide the entry clearance, or do they need a valid stamping? If I cannot get the EC in US, should I go to the home country to get the EC?
