Date of ceremony: 26th March 2014

So my ceremony is booked as I received home office letters this morning as well as one from the council. I might book a private ceremony as the 26th of March was when I planned to go on holiday. I really don't think paying another ceremony fee is worth it on top of the one paid but somehow I knew my date would clash with my holiday time. Nevertheless, am still happy and grateful I got one and that my BC journey has ended and it's time to start the Little red book journey :D

Good Luck to Everyone waiting.
Hi Apple, congrats from me again. I guess like you said we may have the same ceremony date but I have not received the letter yet. Am I sensing you are planning to go my suggested way, which is to book a private ceremony? :-)

LOL scanner I was thinking of doing a private ceremony but the thought of paying more money again. Otherwise am thinking of just attending my ceremony on the 26th march, send off my british passport application on the same day and just alter my holiday plans to a different destination lol :D

FM101,

Firstly if you have ILR you are entitled to public funds. which means you can claim benefits without repercussions.
Secondly it will not affect the outcome of your application if it is your wife who has been claiming and not you. not that it matters if you were both claiming, since you are on ILR.

Out of curiosity, what reason did you give the home office for requesting your documents back?

Guys, sorry to be a killjoy, but can we take this into a separate topic now, as it's getting away from timelines. The General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process could be used if you don't want to start a new topic.

hey. we seem to have exactly the same date we applied and mine was received on the 26th as well as the fees debited on the 10th!)), I am also a spouse with 1 year ILR! Can u kindly tell me if u passed the English language test as new requirement or applied hoping they will consider it under pre 28th change of rules? I saw someone previously posted that the HO did decide to open on 26th of October due to high volume of applications which we can see by the date they received it. This person was advised by MAC in Birmingham that HO informed them that the applications that reached them on 26th will still be under old rules, though they didn't advertise it on the HO site). For me it was a huuuge relief, lol

hi Koshkabrest
i dint take the English Language Test, i took just Life in the UK because as i am from a English speaking country, this didnt applies to me, i was informed that the old rule will still be in place until 25th but because of the high volume of application a grace period was given until the 26th for all the old rules requirements but the new rules was in place by the monday of the following week. so dont worry we made it through.
we can just hope that our approval letters are not far away now.

That is what I thought. In my country I was a teacher of German and English languages, but since I didnt have my diploma traslated at hand I am glad didn't have to pay for the new additional nonsense, lol. Let's keep each other posted then on our progress. Fingers crossed !))

scanner don't worry hope it comes today and if not tomorrow. If it doesn't come this week you've got one week left until you just have to take it into your hands and call em. Then again i don't see why you cant call em and ask?
