Depending on the country you can usually get a visa at the airport. I remember when i went to Egypt they stamped the visa on arrival

Hi all

Had a quick question if anyone can help..

Does a new contract serve as a new job?

Same employer.. just different job title or different contract i.e zero hours to contracted hours?

General rule is that it's the online submission date that counts however there's no point risking it. Even if you have to wait an extra 2-3 weeks. It's better to wait then to have a refusal :)

[quote="roger354"]@fari one last thing your payslips and bank statements shouldn't be older than 28 days of online application best of luck and dont hesitate to ask more questions and please pray for me

@roger354

YeH thats not a problem soon as i receive all the documents i will apply straight away, is it important to get the housing report because, because only my husband lives there its his own house, mortgage free, i thought land registry document should suffice. Yeah his pre tax income is more 1550 per month, my husband only started his job in feb last year so his p60 doesn't show much as he was only 2 months in the job when he got it. Also we got married in august and before my husband come he withdrew about 4k from the bank , is this going to be a problem because its a large amount. This whole process is nerve wracking. My tb test has the wrong uk address it says my in laws address who live in a different city to my husband - really scared about this even though i have been ensured its not a prob. I will add more wedding pics inshalah .

The £4000 withdrawal will not be an issue. Also housing inspection report is a must. Someone else on the forum did not submit it and it was requested from them.

Biometrics are done when you go to gerry and hand all documents in.

First do online application, book appointment, make visa payment. Then attend the appointment at gerrys and hand in all documents.

The document that needs to be filled by hand is the financial requirement document which your UK spouse will fill. You just need to fill the online application and sign it.

Don't use a visa agent in Pak. They are usless :)

I asked for a status update yesterday Iv received an email today from them saying they will escalate the case to the relevant department, Iv provided the information I was wondering this wont have a negative affect on my application will it? I only asked for a status update and got that email on return in the email it said your documents will be sent back to you unless you have paid for a courier service, I applied on the 26/11/14 I hope they reply back to me saying online assessment and verifications have been done

Sugarplum, i got the same response on friday, so i sent them another one last night saying waht does that mean and again they just replied back today saying 'your case has been referred to the relevant department for clarification'.. wtf does that mean?

i want to send another email now asking what this means but i know im not going to get a decent enough answer, and they will just tell me to keep my correspondence to a minimum like last time :-/

Salaam Humawaqas,

Thanks for your message above, I have been confused about the process with regards to biometrics and handing the documents in.
As the sponsor, can I fill the 2 forms, one online and one written and make payment online for the £885 and then ship all my documents to my wife in Pak, who can add her documents to mine. What is the next process, she attends the biometric appointment which was agreed on the online application? Does she hand in the documents when she goes for the biometric or will she have to return another day to hand the documents in?

Can I leave my employed Job ? I am looking to change my part time employed job but would tht effect my case once submitted ?

Tbh yes you can.

I did filled both paid and booked appointment and my wife signed the online application as it was on her behalf.

The appointment you book online is the biometric appointment and yes you hand in the documents same time.

You first process documents and then pay for sms service and are given a recipt (GWF number etc) then biometrics are done and the complete file is handed over and you leave.

One tip if you are sending documents make sure you leave enough date for the appointment so documents reach in time :)

Also read you was inquiring about english tests... I'm assuming your wifes from jhelum... Wouldn't City and guilds a1 be better? Since the test is held in mirpur which is 40 minutes down the road from you :) would be closer than islamabad etc

Okay thank you for your replies. So can a soictor conduct a housing inspection report ? And once i make my online application do i have to make sure all documents are dated with 28 days in order for them to be valid ? Does my husband have to fill in the VAF4A APPENDIX 2 ? Is that the financial requirement form? How do i sign online application is it electronic signature. Because i want to submit my online application and a few days later give my documents in to Gerry's and give biometrics.

You cant leave a job until your visa application has been concluded, if you do this can cause a refusal.

Could anyone who recently obtained a visa verify this is correct? thx
Hi Ali,

That's what I have seen so far as mentioned just few minutes ago. If you get two emails you are granted visa, if not unfortunately you are in trouble. Regarding Ref: number will be unique to everyone so it might not be 17600**, but the two emails will be as follows:

1. Update on your UK visa application - GWF************

Which says it is processed

2. Your Visa Application @ Islamabad (with Unique Ref: Number)

Which says it is concluded

Hope this helps and sorry if I am the bearer of bad news for you guys.

Now this is scary cz i have only received one email today from islamvisainfo@fco.gov.uk that your uk visa app has been processed and will now be returned to the VAC.

Should i wait for another email :( ? if i dont get it then it will mean i am in trouble ? :(

Hi All,

I have received only one email so far from ISLAMVisaInfo@fco.gov.uk with my GWF number that my visa has been precessed and will now be returned to the Visa Application Centre for collection. I am wondering as many applicants discussed two email theory. Do you received both emails on same time? or after couple of hours or days? Can any successful applicant reply me asap please. I will be very graetful. Jazakallah!

It is best to get an estate agent, council or a property surveyor to conduct the housing report. Both forms online and appendix 2 are supposedly to be filled by the applicant (being in Pakistan) however people find it much easier for their UK spouse to do all the work as the sources here are easily available. Online application is filled, paid and printed for applicant to sign using an ink pen. Appendix 2 form is printed then hand filled using an ink pen.
Documents to be dated within 28 days....to clarify this further, this does not mean all your payslips, bank statements, and P60 is dated within 28 days but what it means is that your housing inspection report, supporting letters, latest payslip and bank statement etc are dated within the last 28 days from date of submission.
