Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

Post by dad12345 » Thu Dec 15, 2016 12:13 am

I applied on the 03/03/16 based 5 yrs EU fam. Live in Ireland for about 10 yrs and I have now a EU Visa for 10 yrs. I thought I would be invited for Sep or Nov ceremony but I was not. Sent email to immigration and they informed by process is in advanced stage. I've been receiving the same answer since end of August, it does not change. How could it possibly be in advanced stage since August and nearly 4 months later no progress. Anyone on the same stage? Never had issue with Immigration, worked 6 years in the same company, no penalty, no issue with Garda. Always get the same response from this guy Nial who seems to be copying and pasting the same asnwer. I know we need to give them prenty of time to work on our process but it does not make any sense in my case why it is taking so long.

@dad12345
Well I am actually in the same boat as that of you. Getting the same reply that you are getting for the last 3 months or so. Applied based on being a spouse of an Irish citizen myself.
@ all
any new approvals? or updates like getting response like "submitted to minister"...

cheers,

Your application is being prepared for submission to the Minister, it has
not yet been submitted. You will be informed of the Ministers decision as
expeditiously as possible.

Does any one knows what stage it is ??
Any one can give there suggestion but only experts can give advice

@J_Karim,
my gut feeling says that your application is at "an advanced stage" and one way of saying it is "...completed but not yet submitted to the minister".. this is very confusing... these terms that they use are having internal context/meaning for themselves but not to the applicants who are patiently waiting for the positive result.

@all
If nobody gets a positive response or heard of anything by Monday than that means that we are going to start hearing from 15 January onwards.... I think we are already late for this year in getting any positive response.

Best of luck to all including me who are waiting for a positive response soon.

I asked these question to citizenship division..

1.How long second stage last for any application?
2.When it mentioned you app will be submitted to minister and yet not
submitted ? how long the time frame usually?
3.What does advance stage mean?

And the answers by them:

1.While most cases are now generally processed within six months, the nature
of the naturalization process is such that, for a broad range of reasons,
some cases will take longer than others to process. In some instances,
completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time. It
is not possible, therefore to provide you with a more definite answer.

2.Advanced stage means that an application has either been sent to the
Minister for a decision or is very close to being submitted to the Minister
for a decision.

3.The next round of approval letters are due to issue from this office in
early January 2017.
Any one can give there suggestion but only experts can give advice

Hi All,
Another quick question. I haven't been making very much money last few years, and I think I am under the taxable threshold, so I actually haven't filed a tax return yet for 14 15 and 16... I know, I know... I am a self employed artist and live quite simply and have been coasting on my savings etc.
Anyway, I am wondering if this is something I should clear up with revenue, as my naturalisation just went into final stage? Do they check with revenue? If so, is this an issue?
Cheers

I suspect mine won't be approved early january unless they are planning on drinking lots of coffee. I got my second stage letter in December about one week ago. Isn't the timeline something like:
- Garda Checks 4weeks
- Welfare etc 1 Week
- Other Advanced stage malarkey - 4 weeks
Then off the minister for another 4 weeks
?????

... That was what I read somewhere...

@ J_Karim

I kinda lost my hope. I already shared my timeline earlier. You probably didn't notice. Anyway, as you requested, following are my details.
I applied at the beginning of January 2016.
Got acknowledgment nearly after 4/5 weeks from the submission date.
Second stage letter first week of November 2016.
Application based on EU FAM Stamp 4
I do have a conviction, I was in the court in 2010 for overspeeding, got 4 penalty points and 120 euro fine. I paid the fine on the same day I went to the court. I mentioned it on my application and attached the proof of payment. Just recently sent a letter of remorse.

I think, I don't have any chance for the April ceremony. If I get it, it will be a miracle.

Thanks

@ The_Mentiad, thanks for sharing the info again, it's hard to remember the previous thread.

Anyway, your application is processing really first. I believe, you will get the approval for the coming ceremony. Good luck.

@J_Karim,

Thank you so much for all of your positive words. I don't have any problem with visas and I have been working full time for last 8 years and still working, very well paid job and paying good amount of taxes every month. Let's see what happen.
