Thanks, sorry I missed that. I'm reduced vision so takes me some time to read things properly...

I will try to get everything in one post. I only repeated the question because it wouldn't let me modify or delete my original question and I didn't ask everything I needed to ask in that.

Thanks,

You just have to wait for an answer.. also if you repeat the same question it is unlikely that anyone will answer..
I'm only repeating the question because I cannot edit anything, nor is there one place where I can easily track or manage my posts. The FAQs on this site on how to see all of your posts is incorrect. A link another mod sent me also didn't open. I don't have permissions to modify my own posts, otherwise I would have added the info there. So what other option do I have? Genuinely I am asking because so far I cannot:

1) See my own posts
2) Reply to some of my posts
3) Edit or delete some of my posts (no rhyme or reason as to which ones I can or can't)
4) Cannot search for similar questions posted by others because my account has no permissions to search
5) Cannot private message other users as my account has no permission to private message.

Hi all, I am applying on October 18, 2019. I have compiled my absences over the last 5 years in an excel table as shown. Is this sufficient? Do I need to elaborate on what business / what personal travel it was? Do I need to specify which periods I was working remotely (employer is confirming this is acceptable in the cover letter)? The number of days calculated is minus the entry and exit date. I have a separate sheet for each year, the image below is just one example:

Image

These are the number of absent days I have over the last 5 years

Year 1: 55
Year 2: 58
Year 3: 87
Year 4: 74
Year 5: 56

Thank you

1. It is not the moderators that control this. As already said, you would get email notification s of replies to your topic.

2. Replying to your post is simple so not sure why you believe you are being restricted. You simply click "Post Reply" button.

3. Post cannot be edited after 15 minutes. Post also cannot be deleted by members.

4. It is not the moderators that control this. Many new meme era have this issue and it is a board setting by admin not moderators. You also should not ask your questions in other members topics, it is unfair to other posters and creates confusion.

5. You don't have access to private message function as a new member. You also should not send unsolicited PMs to members and should post in public so all can benefit and all can offer advice.

You should read ALL the forum rules, as you were required to do when joining the forum.

We all offer our time and advice voluntarily and are unpaid. Unfair to members if you keep starting duplicate topics instead of sticking to one thread.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. Like I mentioned before, due to my problems with vision it takes me time to move from one type of screen to the next (for example from my email to this once my eyes have adjusted to this site's styling). That's why I'm pretty keen to see all my posts on this site under my profile and not via email notification.

Do you know why I cannot use the search function? This would save a lot of time and prevent me from asking questions that others have already asked and creating duplicate topics. When I tried to filter it says I don't have permissions to do that and I couldn't find a search bar to type in particular words.

Thanks

You should be able to search if logged out. We have no idea why new members have this problem of searching when logged in. It usually resolves once you have 30 or so posts.

Hi aman90

Thank you for your answers.

Yes, I was out of the country when working remotely. For example when we were moving out of our old office but our new office wasn’t ready yet for another month, my boss permitted me to work from the US for that month. I worked remotely from there for 2 weeks and took the other two weeks as holiday. I have already factored the whole absence though (including exact entry and exit date) in my table for that year though. I was wondering if I need to write “Working remotely/holiday” for that line item.

Ok, thank you.

In the employer cover letter, is it acceptable for my company to write that working remotely from abroad is permitted, or do they need to comment on each individual absence where I did that (and for that matter, on each business trip?)

Include Tier 4 (Student) Visa in ILR Appl + Misc Questions

Post by adisays » Sun Oct 06, 2019 7:31 pm

Hi all,

I just completed the personal info section of my SET O ILR application. I have the following questions I would greatly appreciate assistance with:

1. Should I enter my Tier 4 (General) student visa date as my "date you lived there (the UK) to" question? In the section that asks if you lived in any other country including your country of birth (for me that's US) they ask you to enter your "lived there from" date (I presume my date of birth) until the date "you lived there to." Technically, I entered the UK on September 5, 2013 on a Tier 4 student visa. Because I got a job and Tier 2 sponsorship immediately after finishing my degree 1 year later, I never left the UK before starting my role and entering the first year of my ILR qualifying period, which would be November 2014. Which date should I enter here? It seems inaccurate to say I've been living in the UK since November 2014 when really I've been living there since 2013, but I know the student visa isn't part of the qualifying period.

2. If I hold a BRP card, do I answer 'yes' or 'no' to the Do you have a valid national identity card? question? I assume no as they mean a different type of national identity card?

3. Do I need to add multiple countries under the same trip as separate line items on the online application? For example on one 5 day trip I went to both France and Italy. I listed "France" as the country I visited in the application and wrote in the notes section that I also visited Italy on that trip. Do I need to list out Italy separately using the same dates? For the record, I listed out both countries in the separate Excel sheet of absences I am providing, but separated them by a comma, not on separate lines.

4. Which is the "permit number" on the BRP? Is it the one on the top right (starting with RG) or the one under the 'remarks' section on the bottom?

5. The application supporting documents asks for one month of your payslip and bank statement. It specifically says you "should not provide more" than that. If that's the case - why do I see so many people providing 6 months' worth?

Thank you for your help.

1. Date you entered the UK the first time
2. Say NO. Ignore the national ID question
3. UKVI does not really care which countries you visited in a trip. Just enter one of them
4. The one on the top
5. Because of the Cargo Cult mentality :|

Hi,

How do I find my SOC code? I have just asked HR about this and they have no idea. I presume this would have been specified on the Certificate of Sponsorship the company needed when doing my Tier 2?

That is not me. That is a colleague of mine. Both of us are applying one month apart. I told her about these boards and she registered today. Because I had this existing thread - and you told me to only ask the same question under the same thread here - I posted my question here and she posted hers in the Tier 2 forum as she thought it was more suited for that category. I find it extremely unfair you are accusing people of having multiple usernames with no evidence. In general even if your responses are helpful the tone you take is condescending and unnecessarily aggressive.

we are colleagues. I told her about the board today - we are using one machine so I asked her to register and post so there might be cross contamination. the structure of these forums makes no sense - why wouldn't you be allowed to post different topic questions in separate threads? No one is going to click on my existing thread to answer a question about SOC when that wasn't the original topic of conversation. So hence I thought it was better suited for her to post in the Tier 2 category.

Top 25 Forum Rule FAQs in the first link, see point 12 regarding tagging onto other members topics and the second link below is the Announcement page with all the forum rules, third link regarding Multiple topics. That should cover all bases to clear any misunderstanding or confusion on how the forum is run and which rules have been in place for a very long time (even before my time as a moderator).

Are P60's required? I don't see anything about it in the SET O form for ILR via Tier 2, 5 years, but I see people talking about it. My salary has not changed in the last year and a half. Do I need to submit this?

Also, does the employer letter need to detail when I got a raise?

Applying ILR Online before the 28 days

Post by adisays » Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:44 am

Hi guys,

I'm really confused on what the earliest date I can apply is. If anyone can please help that would be appreciated.

I was on a Tier 4 (Genera) student visa from 2013-2014 to do my Masters. Almost immediately after my degree finished, I started interning and then later was offered a full time position and was granted a Tier 2 (general) visa with a start date of November 14, 2014 for 3 years. This was then extended for another 2 years and my current Tier 2 visa expires November 30, 2019.

I have no idea how to judge when my first "date of entry" into the UK was in relation to the 5 year qualifying period, because after my degree ended and I immediately started working, I never left the UK. Technically the first "entrance" into the UK was before my Tier 4 was granted with an issue date of September 14, 2013. However, I arrived to the UK a bit earlier (September 5, 2013) to get settled before my degree. I even remember the airport official saying "I will stamp September 5, 2013 to activate your Student visa." So I guess my first date of entry was September 5, 2013. However your years on a student visa don't count towards your qualifying period.

So since the Tier 4 year I was here doesn't count in the 5 year qualifying period, and because I never left the UK after finishing my degree, what entry date should I choose as the start of my qualifying period? I prefer to use my first Tier 2 date of issue (Nov 14, 2014) which would mean the earliest I can apply is 28 days before this (Oct 17, 2019) correct?

Or is the correct path 28 days before date of Tier 2 expiration (November 30, 2019), which in my case is November 2, 2019? I definitely don't want to do this, as I feel this is waiting too long and I can apply earlier.

Thank you for your help.

The date of entry has nothing to do with the qualifying period.

Just put the date when you actually entered the UK.

Thanks, I put my date of entry as Sept 5, 2013. I just don’t want them to think I’m counting that as part of my qualifying period because I’m not - years on a student visa don’t count towards the 5 year calculation. In that case should I just use my Tier 2 issue date and count 28 days backwards from there?

Overthinking. Date of entry has no co relation with qualifying period. As long as your application is submitted within 28 days of initial visa date 5th anniversary-you are safe.

Hi aman90,

Looking at the employee absences template in the post you linked, it says:

The following are dates detailing his absence from the UK, from XXXX and also specifying reasons of absence. Please note that he was paid full time salary during these holidays.

Date From Date to Number of days Type of leave

25/12/2009 19/01/2010 24 Annual Paid Leave
11/06/2010 27/06/2010 15 Annual Paid Leave

30/06/2011 17/07/2011 16 Annual Paid Leave
23/12/2011 15/01/2012 22 Annual Paid Leave

07/06/2012 12/06/2012 4 Annual Paid Leave
22/05/2013 22/06/2013 30 Annual Paid Leave

I have my individual absences linked in separate excel tables over the past 5 years, example here:

Image

So is it OK for the letter to instead say something like:

"The supplementary table titled XXX provided with this letter details her absence from the UK from XXXX and also specifies the reasons for the absences. The employee was permitted as part of her employment to work remotely from abroad. Please note that she was paid full time salary during these absences."

*I want to add this line about working remotely being permissible, as I have some absences which are around a month at a time, of which half I worked remotely and half I took as holiday. Is this OK?

If I can include a separate attachment for the absences, I would prefer this otherwise then the letter will be messy and very long.

Thank you,

A

Sounds fine. Just a reminder, work related absences outside UK are considered absences.
