Approval letters are normally sent 5-6 weeks before the ceremony. Then the ceremony invitation comes 2-3 weeks after that.
Same boat guys applied Nov 2017 but as "Kseni" mentioned the waiting was 2.5 (Also others waited similar period) so I kinda giving myself same period I am not happy but I am assuming that is the average now (2.5 years waiting) so I will see approval around March 2020danielmensah wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:10 amCongrats!!!! Good to hear. Hope we get our approval too soon.
I applied since Dec. 2017.

This means if you pay the fee and send the photos as requested, there's a high possibility that you will be included in the June ceremony. Shouldn't have anything to do with the elections (because otherwise they would send out approvals before the election day to give them a bit of advantage in local and European elections).
I know there’s a June ceremony because a senior INIS officer asked me to choose between the April ceremony and this one (my girlfriend had some accessibility issues back then and we didn’t know whether we could make the April ceremony). They also mentioned the June ceremony is to cater for some abnormal applicants (e.g. those with accessibility issues and those who have waited for too long).
I have consulted a solicitor yesterday , let's see how it goes . The system is a bit unfair but we can just wait and see.kseni wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 4:51 pmThank you. I can feel for you, believe me. I’ve called them every week, wrote two TDS, requested foi file, talked to the solicitor. They just do it slow for some applications without any obvious system. People who came with me to the country have already became citizens two years ago. We just have Irish luck

Congratulations to you. Would you please let me know the date on the letter please?mufc69 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:32 amHello everyone, my wife applied for Irish naturalisation in June 2017 , as the spouse of an Irish (from Northern Ireland) and after almost 2 years we got her citizenship approval letter this morning. What a long drawn out journey, hopefully everyone gets sorted with their own applications soon, good luck.
Hello and thank you, can’t say on here exactly when but it was sometime this week.Lily3 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:46 amCongratulations to you. Thanks for the update. I applied December 2017. So I strongly believe I should be getting mine too soon hopefully. This process is very frustrating.mufc69 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 12:16 pmHello and thank you, can’t say on here exactly when but it was sometime this week.Lily3 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:46 ammufc69 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:32 amHello everyone, my wife applied for Irish naturalisation in June 2017 , as the spouse of an Irish (from Northern Ireland) and after almost 2 years we got her citizenship approval letter this morning. Unfortunately not. "Advanced stage" doesn't mean a decision will be made in any specific time frame.
