Wow!!!!

Congratulations to the March applicants who have just received their RC!!! That's excellent!!!

Mileman, I've noticed your RC took less than 4.5 months since CoA. That's amazing! I really hope HO keeps this timeline for applications made after April's changes.

Enjoy your new possibilities! :D

I was wondering what kind of conditions you have to meet in order to keep your RC? are the conditions specific or general?
Do I have to still be a member of my Sponsor's household and dependent on them financially?
Thanks a lot people, congrats to everyone who got theirs!
According to the letter attached to the RC, your sponsor needs to exercise his rights while still being related to you and living in the country.

Any changes in that have to be submitted to the H.O

Hi Mileman
Congratz!!!
How many calendar days did it take since application.
You got it around 4 months. lucky one. Your app was very straight forward I think. Isnt it?
Bili, it was a total 94 working days / 131 calendar from COA, 4 months and one week total.

And yes, I believe it was pretty straightforward, been married for almost 5 years, together for almost 15, wife exercises treaty rights, sent in medical private insurance since my wife was a student at the time of the application and is a job seeker now.

Soon We will start to see April applicants after changes.
Personally I expect really big gap after april changes applicants as 20 days.
HO has a excuse now to be late coz app system has been changed.
I applied harder visa at 2013, It was selp employment visa in UK, I got it in 3,5 months which was very hard to get.
Now I applied EEA FM which is very straigtforward compare to previous visa type but somehow it takes more than 5 months.

this waiting is killing me

Hi again,

As I mentioned earlier we are a feb. applicants. Still waiting...(Urrrgh).

We called the HO on wednesday and they took our info and said they would be calling back in 72h. I believe we should hear from them today.

Just a question about this tracking number. We bought 2 envelopes (next day delivery or something like that), but we received just 1 tracking number (for the envelope originally sent on february). I just wanted to confirm if that is correct or we should have received 2 tracking numbers instead. The waiting is really horrible because we live at the university accommodation and they have failed to noticed me when packages arrived a couple of times before. And since this tracking number is not working, we dont really know if they are still processing it, if royal mail lost the package, if it is lost in the housekeeper office.,,,,Horrible..

Thanks!

Hi G2ry48!
Similar situation, only one payment withdrawn on our side. I'm wondering whether you received CoA letter or any progress when no money withdrawn? And what happened so far?

Fernando, you should have received two numbers.

One from your home to the H.O, which should look delivered back in february.
One from the H.O to your home, which is the one they should use to send your documents back.

Did you request your passports? Maybe the used the empty envelope you sent to get them back to you, but even if this was the case, the tracking number should be working.

If they gave you two receipts, the second tracking number is on the front of the second receipt.

Hi everyone,

I just realized today that we might have a problem. We changed our address 2 months back and notified HO via post (like I did when I changed my work place as well) submitting the new tenancy agreement, bank statements with the new address, etc. I didn't know at the time that there was an online way of doing this...
Seeing how we are pushing 5 1/2 months, today I thought of giving them a call and asking whether they received the change of address since we had no news so far on what we thought was a very straight forward application. They told me that most likely my address was not updated and that correspondence from HO might have gone to the old address. I asked whether I can get a call back from HO to confirm this (like I did when I changed my job) but they told they cannot confirm this and that I should do it online. But it's been 2 months already!!!! Has anyone been in this situation? Did anyone update their address via post instead of using the online form and everything was alright nevertheless???

We didnt request the passaport back, but the woman from post office just gave us 1 tracking number. Thats really annoying cause we purchased probably the most expensive service, to be quicker.... And its almost 17 and no one called us back (10 minutes to end the 72h deadline...)

We are an unmarried couple, been together for 3 years and have been living together for 2.
My partner is the non-eea, and I am the eea national.

Application received:13/07
Payment taken:14/07
Biometrics letter received & biometrics enrolled: 23/07
Requested passports & partner's BRP back: 24/07
Passports & BRP arrived: 30/07
Now we're waiting for the COA.

I read the last few posts just now, and we have also sent the electronic payslips without a stamp, signature or a note!!
Will call HO and see what they say.

Good luck everyone.
Sorry what do you mean you requested your partners brp back ? Our lawyers told us that the old visa is automatically cancelled when you apply for eea2

Hi Alex,

We did not use a solicitor, made the application ourselves, but I haven't seen that piece of info anywhere...

However we have had 1 meeting with a solicitor, and when we asked about travelling during the 6 months period, I remember him clearly stating that if my partner had a valid visa, he could travel anywhere as he wishes. Which made sense to me but apparently solicitors have different opinions on this?

Maybe someone who has applied while in possession of a valid BRP/visa can enlighten us on this?

I also wanted to update my timeline here, as we just received the COA today, WITH right to work, which is amazing! We haven't been expecting this as we applied as unmarried partners, but I believe that must also be due to him having a valid BRP until mid 2016 which gives him the right to work...

Hi aurora77, I think we have very similar timeline as well. You can call them and stating that it is after 21 days and you deserve an accurate reply.

But I really think it is probably on the way to you anyway. They must have huge work load at the moment due to implementing the new policy and holiday season.

That is quick! But I think alex1128 is also making sense. My understanding is that the EU law is in some cases above the national law of the member state, thus your RC is somehow a higher format of residence permit. And this puts the previous visa for non-EEA visa nationals invalid. But I guess this is a way too complicated topic anyway.

I see your point Lyztge. I guess the BRP would surely be invalid after he gets the RC, but I don't know if that's the case before a decision is made.

My partner called HO last week though, to ask if he needs to notify them before travelling abroad, and they did not mention anything about the BRP not being valid anymore, or any travel restrictions. They simply said 'no need'. We are an unmarried couple and don't have a marriage certificate so I don't see how he would be able to travel abroad if his visa is now invalid. He would surely be able to enter the UK with the COA, but he wouldn't be let on a plane from the other country without the valid visa, right? He is travelling to his home country tomorrow morning so I really hope that the solicitor we met was right!

Again, it would be very much appreciated if anyone could share their experience who had a valid visa during the decision period.

Is Barclays visa debit card ok or it must be a credit card only?

Hi again Alex & everyone,

I just spoke with my partner regarding his chat with the HO last week thought I'd update you.

Apparently this was the case:

On the biometrics letter, there was a sentence along the lines of 'if you travel abroad, you need to apply for a family permit to enter the UK'. So he asked spesifically about why this was written on the letter, as he has a valid BRP. They said that this is just a generic format they use, and he is ok to travel with his BRP.

Hi Adnan,

If I'm not mistaken, I remember a post on this forum which said the COA's are issued within 15 working days after the biometrics. So I guess you could give it a few more days, and give the HO a call if you still did not get it by the end of this week?

But I don't think you should worry, as things seem to be taking slightly longer lately... It might even be on it's way!
