Need help for Newborn passport

I am on ILR visa and my wife is on FLR(M), last week I had a new born baby. I want to know that can I apply for his British Passport and what doccments do i need to submit with the application.

I assume the child was born in the UK.

I have read the FAQ but I am not sure, SHOULD I APPLY FOR a PASSPORT FOR HIM or go for a registration.?

I thought the FAQ is quite clear.

If the child was born in the UK after one parent has ILR/PR, then the child is British from birth and can apply directly for a passport

What are you not sure of?
