Hi All,
Ive got a few questions regarding the whole marriage process.
I am a non EU National with a visit visa valid until may 2008.
i last re-entered the uk a few days ago and have another six months of legal stay until august 07.
Ive lived and worked in some european countries, always legally:) , BUT im tired of always dealing with the home office of every country i go to, so im considering marrying my uk girlfriend to become legal definitely THIS time!
all dear moderators, senior members and other experienced and helpful fellow members, could you please take a look at the chronological procces below and verify if 'my idea' of the process seems correct?
1. apply for a COA by post. (very soon)
2. wait until it gets approved. (How long does it take for the COA to get approved approx? any new reports on that?)
3. Once the COA is approved and arrives in post we need to give notice of marriage and wait 16 days.
4. after that waiting time we can finally get married.
5. how long does it take for me to get the residence card? can i work at some point during this time?
6. what happens if im the approval takes too long and my six months run out?
Thank you for all your ideas, suggestions, and observations.
Im trying to read all the posts as soon as humanily possible.
Appreciate your help
Best
Happy
