W.H. Maker to Unmarried Partner of EU Passport Holder?

Hello, I'm hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction.

Here is my situation:

I am currently in the UK on a working holiday maker visa. This expires in February 2005.

My girlfriend holds a Dutch passport & we have been living together in the UK for just under 2 years. Before arriving we did not live together but were in a relationship for many years.

We are both currently working and can support oursleves, and have documents linking us to the same address.

What I plan to do is apply as a de-facto partner with my girlfriend. The question is how do you go about this? My understanding is that she will need to apply for indefinate leave to remain - then I will have to apply for the defacto visa.

If anyone knows which forms to complete & in what order - I would really like to know.

1. De facto visas only apply to unmarried partners of a settled person = British Citizen, Commonwealth Citizen with the Right of Abode or Indefinite Leave To Remain/Enter in the UK.

2. Your Dutch partner can apply for settled status only after exercising treaty rights (employment/ self employment) in the UK for 4 years consecutively.

My Dutch partner is actually an Australian citizen with 2 passports (so lucky).

Does this mean she is a Commonwealth Citizen?

My logic says that if this is the case, & my girlfriend is able to get indefinate leave to remain - that I can take advantage of the defacto partner visa...
