I have submitted 2 applications for visitor visa for UK from USA.
One for my mother and one for my self. Me and my mother are both Indian citizens and my mother is a green card holder in USA and I am a permanent resident of Canada. While I am visiting USA as a visitor I applied for myself and my mom for a visitor visa for UK. both passports were sent in one UPS pack because 2 applications are permitted to be sent in one package.
Our applications were placed in que on June 2nd which is about a week after they received my application.
It has been over 15 business days, and they say that they notify applicants if its going to take more than 15 business days.
I have been calling to check the status and they say that it is still being processed by entry clearance officer and no further info on the status. At the same time they say the decision has been made on my mother's visa application. She has travelled to UK as a family visitor previously in last 6 months to attend a wedding.
I am sure my mother has been issued a visa but I am not sure about why my application is taking too long. Could it be the case that i am applying from USA where my status is a visitor and I have my biometrics done from USA and may be they are trying to check if I have any criminal record in Canada. I am just guessing.
