Question about FLR(M) Section 13A

Post by Lurch » Sun Dec 20, 2015 6:35 pm

With the 'Your Relationship' part with Section 13A that states

Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as
evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or
from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years

I assume this requirement applies to everyone and not just those who are doing a renewal? In my case (my wife is Canadian, we have only been living in the UK together for 4 months), this is the first time I am submitting the FLR(M) form. The issue I may have is having enough documentation...

1x Council Tax Bill in Joint Name
Bank Statements in individual names
TV License in Sponsor Name
Tenancy Agreement with both names on (I rent the property from my parents)
Letter from Registrar (Local Council) with Sponsor name on it

I plan to get the GP letters sorted out.

Any advice is much appreciated.

This isn't a requirement for a first time FLR(M) application following marriage.

Casa,

Thank you for the quick reply. I can't see anything in the guidance notes (FLR_M__guidance_notes_11-15.pdf) that states this though? Apologies if I have missed something obvious.

I can assure you that the 6 documents proving joint address covering 2.5 years are only required for the second FLR(M) extension. As with most UKVI forms, this has been poorly thought out and is misleading.

One last question on the topic...I assume I don't bother ticking that checkbox then as it doesn't apply?

My wife is currently here on the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa, I am going to use the premium service option and hopefully get a decision on the same day.

Thanks for the help :)

You will need to submit your marriage certificate and proof of a genuine relationship, photos, history of the relationship etc. Also evidence of adequate accommodation and A1 level English (unless exempt). You will have to pay the NHS surcharge of £500 online before submitting the visa application, unless you wife is a national of an exempt country. Submit payslips, bank statements + letter from your employer on company letterhead confirming the terms of your employment. £18,600 income per annum is mandatory or substantial savings to make up any shortfall.

I assume evidence of adequate accommodation would be some pictures of the property, rental agreement and the council tax bill.

The English requirement isn't an issue as Canada is on the exempt list.

Thanks again :D

Hi Casa

Is it possible that you can give some reference or explain the basis of your opinion regarding 6 documents which are only required for second FLR M extension not for first FLR M applicant?.

Hi, just jumping in...I have 6 months of bank statements, a letter from my employer (as sponsor), and 1 year worth of payslips. Is this adequate for income proof? I have a mortgage, so will I need to include mortgage statements? And as I understand from the thread we don't need to provide letters addressed to both of us at the address (which was a bit of a worry, who gets letters sent these days?!)

Thanks
