overseas criminal check?

Post by vivic » Thu Oct 03, 2019 8:16 pm

Hi,

I saw on the government website that my occupation is required to provide overseas criminal record check for visa application.

However, it also says this is not required if one is “making an application for an extension of stay in the UK".

I am not entirely sure what that means?

Do I still need to provide the record when I am applying within the UK to switch from a tier 4 to tier 2 visa?

I tried to contact the Home office helpline but they couldn’t give me an answer (just tell me to read the website)...

Wonder if anyone know?

If the overseas criminal check is required, will a check conducted prior to my first UK visa be valid? Even though I did go back to my country of origin on five occasions for holiday but no more than 9 months in total?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello

First, application -> Required

Extension of the same visa -> Not required

If they don't say anything about the switch, I would provide the criminal record. You have to treat it as a first application.
