Switch from Tier 2 Dependent to Tier 2 Visa

Post by SH13047 » Tue Jan 07, 2020 4:44 pm

Hi All,
I am currently working in London on Tier 2 General Dependent VISA. My employer has agreed to sponsor my Tier 2 general VISA. Can some one clarify on below
i) Can I apply for Tier 2 general VISA from UK?
ii) Do my employer need to have a Labor Market Test (since I am already working with them)?
iii) How long this process takes?
iv) Will I have to undergo any cooling off period?

No, You have apply from your home country.

ii) Do my employer need to have a Labor Market Test (since I am already working with them)?

Depends. Could you confirm what is your SOC code?

iii) How long this process takes?

Your employer has to apply for RCOS. As today is 7th, you will have to wait till next month HO meeting which generally happens 5th of every month.

iv) Will I have to undergo any cooling off period?

No.
