Family members in the UK affecting visitor visa?

Post by katya18888 » Wed Jan 05, 2022 2:52 pm

Hello!

I'm on a Skilled Worker visa, and my boyfriend is on a visitor visa (business purpose). I'm spending most of my time in the UK, and he's staying with me when he's going on business trips to the UK (one year it was 120 days, another year - 85 days). We're planning to get married soon, and then he'll be applying for his business visitor visa extension.

He'll have to indicate that he's got a family member in the UK (me) in the application form. Is it possible that his application will be refused, and our family ties will impact his business visa continuation?
He's got a good record of previous UK business visit visas, and an invitation from his employer, of course. His job is in his country of residence.

Thank you

You being in the UK will be considered but it won't lead to refusal by itself.
Hope his 1st visit on the old visa was not significantly longer than what was stated on application form. In the new application, also ensure the proposed visit matches the actual 1st visit duration. Some people got refusal because they stayed longer than planned.
