Process after British Passport for OCI

Hi all, I just wanted to confirm I have these steps correct for OCI application after receiving my British passport. The info is not very clear for me. PLease let me know if this is wrong and fill in any gaps:

1. Apply for Surrender of Indian passport on: portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html
2. Print Surrender application and get it signed in VFS London?
3. Apply for Renunciation certificate on: indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/Renounce
4. Do I need appointments for the above 2 steps?
5. Apply for OCI on https://ociservices.gov.in/
6. Book OCI appt?

Any help is most appreciated. Also some notes: I don't live in London and will have to travel there.

You need Surrender certificate to apply for OCI

Hi I am finding conflicting information whether we need to renounce citizenship or not? Is it confirmed that we don't need to renounce anymore?
