Seeking Advise for a Visitor Visa Application for Mother

Post by poonamtiwari333 » Tue Jun 09, 2026 10:32 pm

Hello,

I want to bring my mother over to stay with me in the UK for 2 months during summer. I have a British Passport. This is her first time visiting me and she will be attending my daughter's birthday as well. My mother is currently living in India with my brother and dad.

Here are the documents I have prepared for the visa application, please suggest if these will suffice for the application:

1. INVITATION TO UK

• Invitation letter
• Birthday party invitation – My daughter's birthday party, which has been postponed so my mother can attend, falls during her stay.

2. MOTHER'S PERSONAL DOCUMENTS

• Completed online application form (submitted via gov.uk)
• Signed declaration page (printed from the online application)
• Current passport
• UKVI-specification photograph
• Aadhaar card
• Cover letter from my mother, explaining the purpose and duration of her visit

3. Family Ties and Financial Documents (India)

• Father's Pension Payment Order (PPO)
• Certified English translation of the PPO
• Six months' bank statements showing pension credits — (Note: my father's PPO references Allahabad Bank, which merged with Indian Bank within the last five years. We will obtain the statements from the Indian Bank branch and include a cover letter from the branch manager confirming the merger and continuity of account.)
• My mother's passport, (which names my father as her spouse)
• Notarised affidavit from my father confirming the marriage, financial support, and shared residence (in lieu of a marriage certificate, which is not held)
• My brother's Aadhaar card (registered at the same address as my mother)
• Utility document in my brother's name at the household address (phone bill)
• My brother's business registration documents

6. SPONSOR'S DOCUMENTS (myself)

• Passport
• My birth certificate, naming both parents
• Six months' bank statements
• Six months' payslips
• Employment letter from current employer
• Evidence of £2,500 in savings

Thank you
