Maternity Leave and ILR

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I had a query regarding maternity, Tier 1 extension and ILR. This is about my friend who is currently on Tier 1 visa and is about to go on maternity leave.
Can this person stay out of UK for maternity purpose for more than 90 days? Would her absence of more than 90days affect her chances of getting ILR .Your guidance in this is much appreciated.
