Limited company director- Tier 1 Extension

Post by smitha_t » Tue Jan 10, 2012 7:51 pm

Hi,

I am sending my application for Tier 1 extension. Could some seniors or members with similar experience share their thoughts about the supporting documents evidence to be sent:

1. PBS application form Version 04/11.

2. 2 photos and passport.

3. payslips from accountant with my company stamp on it.

4. Dividend vouchers on my company letterhead.

5. Invoice summary for last 12 months.

6. Business and personal bank statements.

7. Accountant letter confirming salary and dividends.

8. Banker's draft for fee payment.

9. Company incorporation certificate and VAT certificate.

Am I missing anything please  ?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Smitha,

I have seen cases where they requested for the original Degree .

( I know this is an tier-1 extension not initial entry , one of my friend have faced this .This is just for your info and is not mandatory)

Cheers

I would also recommend carrying your company Incorporation and VAT Registration certificates (as the reg nos. of these will be mentioned in the accountant letter).

Again may not be mandatory but better to carry them just in case they ask

Smitha,

I would suggest inclusion of covering letters for each section:

1) Age
2) Qualification
3) Earnings
4) UK Experience
4) English Language
5) Maintenance Funds

If possible, also include a table of contents as the first page followed by the main cover letter showing the points claimed and supporting documents provided for the same.

You also need to take a print out of the PBS Calculator summary, if not already taken.

All the information has to be spoon fed. Clearer the information, easier would be application processing.

Cheers

I think you got all the required documents. If possible include Company's Share Certificates.. Following are the documents that I submitted

- Payslips signed by Accountant (Dividend/Salary covered in payslip, dates mismatch)
- Dividend Vouchers (Stamped & Signed by me)
- Accountant's Letter (clearly showing salary & dividend payment details in separate tables - Gross,Net,Tax,Date of Payment,Bank A/c number)
- Personal Bank A/c Stmt (Barclays does not provide duplicate stmt and I was missing one stmt so for that they provided stmt on a plain paper, along with a covering letter stamped & signed each page)
- Business Bank A/c Stmt
- Share Certificate
- Certificate of Incorporation
- VAT Reg Certificate & VAT Flat rate approval certificate
- Company Details on a page (Company Reg number, Previous Addresses, Tax Reference etc)

Thanks Dilip_gem. I have got everything as mentioned above.

The only difference is, I have printed the dividend vouchers on my letterhead with my sign and stamp on it and asked my accountant to sign and stamp it as well.

Believe it or not zuby there can be advantages in registering for VAT voluntarily. Of course there can be disadvantages too but it really is down to the individual, their business and their aims.

The current threshold (2011-12) is £73,000.

A Google (other search engines are available) search is a good place to start in discovering the pros and cons as well as getting every man, woman and dog's view on what you should do(!)

Short answer: You charge your clients VAT at 20%, you pay HMRC a VAT of 15% (If you're in IT. Percentage varies by profession). The difference you get to keep.

Hi Smita

Can you please let us know if you have applied in person for the visa or via post. Just want to know what all questions are normally asked by the case worker with regards to the Limited Company, employment status (whether employed or self-employed) and dividend etc.

Thanks
Mukesh

hi

smitha_t
and
dilip_gem

My tier 1 extension is due in April. Today is 26 feb. Only 50 days left in VISA expiry.

after reading some message it looks I have done a very stupid mistake in maintaining the maintenance funds.

I am maintaining funds in Business Account of my pvt ltd company. funds are sufficient like 7k. I did not bother to maintain even a single personal account. May be balance is some account is above 1000 but not sure it is always like that.

now I am seriously worried that business account will be accepted as fund maintenance proof or not.

plz help :(
