FLR(m)

Post by gemini120612 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 1:25 am

Hi im after a bit of advice please i am a british citizen and my husband is a gambian national here in the uk with me on a spouse visa. We have been very stupid so please dont badh us. We had financial and problems with life in uk test just before we were due to apply for husbands visa
So we decided to apply for FLR(M) so my husband can gt his qualification for life in uk test. Now only problem is his visa expired 7/8/14 and we did not send the flr(m) form off till 5/8/14 they recieved our application on 6/8/14 and took the £601 payment on 7/8/14. Will they reject the application because we applied to close to expiry date?

You'll be fine. The date of application is taken as the postal date which was before the expiry date,

Thanks Casa, we were worried because they tell u to apply 28days before the visa expiry date but we had a few problems which resulted in the delay. Fingers crossed we will be ok :)

You've misunderstood. You are able to apply no earlier than 28 days before if you choose to do so, or before the expiry date, Don't worry.

It would help if you started your own thread with this as it bears no relation to the original question.
You are unable to apply to switch to a spouse visa from within the UK. You'll have to return to your home country to apply from there.
Make sure your husband (as sponsor) is able to meet the minimum financial earnings of £18,600 per annum, unless you have substantial savings that have been held in an accessible account for at least 6 months.
Don't be tempted to overstay your visitor visa as this will only complicate future visa applications.
