family visit visa - supporting documents

Post by kenstar » Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:06 am

My mother in law is applying for a 10 year family visit visa. We are planning to send online printed bank statements to her to support her application.

The guidance notes seem a little vague. Are online printed bank statements acceptable or must they be originals sent through the mail from the bank?

If you print them from online - UKBA advise you get them certified by the bank. The bank won't do that however, so you'll need to get proper copies sent to you by the bank. That'll (probably) cost around £5 per statement.

Anyone with a modicum of skill in Word can knock up a bank statement and make it look vaguely right -s o UKBA are right to take precautions on this.
