Confused about language tests

Post by otaatepe » Mon May 11, 2015 10:44 pm

Hi,

I have been in the UK almost 13 years, and my last 1 year is with ILR. I believe it is the time for applying for naturalisation.

Now, here is the thing, I am really confused about the exams. I wonder which language exams should I take.
Is CEFR B1 enough? Isnt it only for Speaking and Listening?, If it is so, what about reading and writing?, those are not required? and what is the cheapest exam option I have?

I appreciate all the helps, and thanks in advance.

This is the list of approved tests and test providers.

You need level B1 for naturalisation. Do you have a UK university Degree by any chance?

Grade 5 at B1 on the CEFR and ESOL Entry level 3 is approved by the Home Office for Settlement/ILR and Naturalisation applications made after 28th October 2013

You have to have a speaking & listening qualification at B1 CEFR or higher.
