Spouse Visa - Financial Requirement

Hi,
I need help please, I am applying for entry clearance for my wife to UK, My Gross Salary is 40.000 pounds a year, I only have 4 thousands pounds in my saving accounts, we don't have children, My question is Am I meeting the financial requirements to sponsor my wife? if not How much savings I need, also another question: do they look at expenditure and what is left from the net salary after expenses? is there any specific requirements there!
