HSMP - Maintenance Documentation

Post by rteskey » Mon Sep 08, 2008 11:08 am

Hi,

I have the £2800 required to show maintenace in a joint bank account with a friend. My name is on all of the statements. Am I able to use the joint bank account for proof of maintenance? All I can find is that you can havea joint-bank account with a spouse but not other family members. As mine is with a friend im unsure of whether this is alright.

If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated!

When joint accounts with immediate family members other than spouse are not acceptable, do you think a joint account with a "friend" will be considered??

Well i read something from the British High Commission that joint bank account with a married, unmarried, or civil-partner would be acceptable. Therefore if the bank account is with a boyfriend who is not involved in the application process at all I wondered whether it was acceptable?

Hi All,

I got HSMP approval in March'2008. at that time maintenance of funds is not necessary.

Now I am planning to apply for EC, do I need to show the maintenance 2800 pounds for 3 months ?

Or I can apply in the old scheme ?

Please suggest.. I have no much time

Cluttering the board with duplicate posts is not going to offer any distinct advantage. Reading this will be useful.

Applicants from India applying for EC (on basis of HSMP approval letter) after 31-Mar are required to provide evidence of maintenance funds as prescribed under Tier 1.
Transitional arrangements for those with an HSMP approval letter wrote:If you have already got an HSMP approval letter, but have not applied for permission to enter or stay as a Highly Skilled Migrant, you will automatically score points for your attributes and for English language because you have an HSMP approval letter.

You must fill in all other appropriate sections of the relevant application form, including the maintenance (funds) section.
