Hi Everyone,
Please, I will appreciate if you can help me with the below:
I am about to apply for a spouse visa for entry into UK for my wife. I am British citizen living in the UK. I am a contractor working under an umbrella company. The umbrella company issues me with payslips and deducts tax from my gross. In the past 12months, I have worked on three different assignments with varying payments (payments vary in that, I don't get paid when there is a holiday or when I am on holiday or when I don't have any assignment to work on) . The payments are daily pay but paid weekly. In all these, I have been using the same umbrella company. Now my last assignment ended on 31st March 2023 but I am still receiving payment weekly being the payment of the work already done in March. This payment will stop by end of this month, April. At the moment, I am intensely applying for other contract roles and I intend to use the same umbrella company for any future roles. Now below are my questions:
1. Under which category should I apply, Category A or B?
2. Are umbrella companies classified as Non-salaried?
3. Do I need to apply under Salaried or Non-salaried?
4. Can I apply with the weekly payslips of my earnings for the last 12months?
5. Just looking at what I earned in the past 12months I should be way above the required threshold of £18,600. The payslips are weekly payments but I want to know, how can I actually calculate the payments to ensure I meet the financial requirements?
6. Also, do I need to wait get another contract job before applying as I was looking at making the application in a couple of weeks time?
I know the above are a bit lengthy but please, I will appreciate if I can get your thoughts on the above and also if there is anyone with similar scenario who has sponsored their spouse visa, I would like to know your thoughts too and the outcome of your application.
Also, please feel free to ask me for any clarification.
