Child MN1 stayed outside of UK

Post by markg1 » Sun Oct 05, 2025 4:01 pm

Hello,

Our daughter was born in the UK (now 6 yrs old), when I was on Tier 2. I since got British Citizenship via Naturalisation. However, we were outside of the UK for 4 years and only now returned back, she got through as Family Visa. We'd like to apply her Citizenship via MN1 but we do not have any doctor/teacher who knows her here for the last 3 yrs for reference of character.
Can we use our family friend, who is of a profession acceptable in the list? They know her from when she was born but are not a doctor of teacher.

Thanks.

Fine to use a friend and explain briefly in a cover letter.

I hope you have evidence of your ILR BRP card, as her entitlement to register is based on your ILR and not your British Citizenship.

Yes, thank you very much for the quick response.
I've kept my ILR BRP, thanks to this forum! :D
