Naturalisation Application

Post by Jamal_T1 » Sat Sep 20, 2025 11:01 am

Hello everyone,

I am about to start my application. I have a few questions if someone can help with:

We are a family of five. Husband and wife with three kids. Kids turned 18 during our stay in Uk and were granted ILR accordingly. While going through with the application, they are asking about the proof of stay in the Uk for the past five years but are not accepting bank statements, bills etc. What should I attach here? Kids are going to university, so not many documents are available for them. All have their driving licenses, but I believe these are not acceptable. What should I add for them?

Same is the case with myself and wife. My wife works so i can arrange her P60s for the concerned period. Do you think these are sufficient for her. We did not travel anywhere since we first landed so we will upload the PPs. For myself can I attach the printout from my personal gateway account. I have a proper job for the past two years and can provide P60s for the last two years as well.

What other supporting documents can we use here?

For a referee, I have a friend who is british citizen and can be a referee. The second referee, i have a friend who is a doctor, but he is on skilled worker visa. Can I use him as my second referee?

Can I put all the family in one application, or do we have to file separately?

Thank you and BR
Jam

For UK ILR holders the passports covering the residency period are sufficient. You refer to your "kids" - if they are all 18 and above they are now treated as adults.

Not required.

A doctor is ok as long as he's not an NHS GP.
Can I put all the family in one application, or do we have to file separately?
You can - at the end of the application select to add further applicants. Note this isn't a "family application" every applicant is assessed individually, not necessarily by the same caseworker and approvals may not come at the same time.

Were your passports stamped on every entry into the UK?

With regards to your over-18 children, be aware that they would need to meet all the requirements of an adult, including one year after ILR, the LITUK test and English language test or a completed degree in a university taught in English, even if these was not required at the time of ILR.

Our passports were stamped when we landed the first time. We never left the UK after that.

This is something I need to look imto as one of my kid has to LITUK and English language test. the other two passed at the time of ILR application.

Hi Guys,

A few questions as I am in the middle of completing the application.

My wife is director in three companies. Do i have to disclose all the three companies in the employment. She takes salary from only one of them and nothing for other two.
Also with the above, the form says to select all the is relevat, An employee, A director, a business partner, self emplyed, other... what do i select from these?

For myself, i work in a company, this is clear i am employee. I also have three companies of my own where i am a director, but do not take salary and/or dividends. Do i need to disclose that?

My kids are in uni, but they also work, but the nature of the contract is Uni Contract. They mostly have to work in term breaks, but may work over the weekends if they want to (subject to if they get some hours from the employers) Do i need to show in the application as their job?

Best regards
Jam

You need to disclose that your wife is director of three companies, and same for you, in a cover letter (you also need to declare your employed status for a company). No matter if you don't take salaries or other income. Attach also your individual self assessments both for you and wife. Same with your children, if they have a job just disclose where that is.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.

Good evening mods,
Another question.

Is there any separate form for referees to fill and sign? I have provided the referee information in the online application. Please confirm, and if there are separate forms, can I have the links to download?
