PBS dependent Waiting time 12 months after ILR

Hi

This is regarding naturalization of my Wife and 2 children aged 12 and 7 (both born out of UK).
They have been here since feb 2020 on a Tier 1 Entrepreneur dependent visa.
I became British citizen in july 2025 and applied for my dependents ILR in may 2025 and bio metrics in july 2025 (still waiting for a decision).

Just wanted to know if my dependents need to wait for 12 months to apply for naturalization / registration or do they qualify for naturalization / registration as soon as they are granted ILR.

I am trying to understand the guidelines in section 6(2) :

"If you are married to, or the civil partner of, a British citizen (section 6(2))”, it states:

“Be free from immigration time restrictions on the date of application and have been for at least 12 months (unless the spouse or civil partner of a British citizen).”

and also what are the guidelines for the registration of children.

Section 6 applies only to adults. The children can probably be registered immediately with a parent.
See MN1 guidance section 3(1) registration at discretion.

If children are born outside the UK they (and your spouse) need to secure ILR before applying. They can apply as soon as they get ILR.

Your spouse can apply after she both secures ILR AND you attend your ceremony to become a British citizen. Both of these need to happen., but once you are British and she has ILR she doesn't have to wait any longer to apply.

What i understand is:
1- my spouse can apply for naturalization as soon as she gets ILR without waiting for 12 months despite her route as PBS dependent of Tier 1 Entrepreneur.

2- My children also qualifies to register as a British citizens after getting ILR.

I am but confused as one of my friend went through the same route and told me to wait for 12 months once they get ILR.

You have posted the official ukvi guidance, which is very clear. Noy sure what is not clear.

You were also already given advice!

A person married to a British citizen does NOT have to wait 12 months on ILR and it will be an application based on 3 years residence and all requirments must be met.

I know you sometimes have to go through some silly questions and then answer them.
I was confused if someone who came here on spouse visas doesn't have to wait for 12 months.

Once spouse has ILR, immigration route ceases to matter. If the other spouse is already a British citizen, they don't have to wait after ILR to apply for naturalisation.
