CoS and BRP Dates - query

Post by ska_abbas » Mon Feb 16, 2026 1:18 pm

Hi there,

I am currently on Skilled Worker visa in the UK since Nov 2021. I was looking at my CoS and BRP dates and had a query which I am hoping someone would be able to guide me with:

- in 2022 I was issued a CoS (when I changed employer) and the dates on the CoS were 1 Aug 2022 to 1 Aug 2024. The BRP which I received had visa approved from 1 Aug 2022 to 15 Aug 2024 (2 weeks more than CoS)

- in 2024 when I got my visa extended with the same employer, the CoS started from 16 Aug 2024 (instead of 2 Aug 2024) till 20 Nov 2026. The visa was successfully extended till 6 Dec 2026.

I wanted to ask if I need to worry about those 2 weeks gap on CoS from ILR point of view. I had a valid visa to remain in the country for those 2 weeks with CoS number mentioned on the BRP. Would this impact ILR application later this year, and do I need to get any other document.

Many thanks

I was trying to edit my previous post with some additional information, but couldn't find the Edit option.

The visa extension in 2024 was granted in May 2024, before the expiray of the current CoS/Visa, so technically my visa was already granted in May, 2 months before the expiray of the current visa/CoS.

Thanks

No, nothing to worry about.

No, no impact. No other document is required.
