Maintenance Fund - Dependant

Hi,

a) I intend to apply for wife and 2 kids as dependents. The query is about the orginal bank statement and bank letter for maintenance. Should i make a set of these for each applicant or will one set do for all of them as the 3 applications will be submited together.

2) At the moment as a main applicant i am still outside UK and still in India. Is it necessar to provide accomodation proof as i am looking at making an entry sometime in June end. I intend to make entry date in application as last week of june and I am sort of confused on this as confirmed date of departure would mean that i make arrangements of accomodation.Since i am not sure when i would leave, this makes it quite uncomforatble to answer as i am still outisde UK.

You can use the same statement for all the three dependents. Make sure you explain this in your cover letter and also have sufficient funds covering all the three dependents.

Tks. Aurely would explain in the cover letter. Also i see no point in providing 3 sets of original statements and bank letter.

It becomes a herculean task explaining it to the bank.

Hi Asif,

Alternatively, you can book a room for 1 week at one of the hotels in London from bhrc.co.uk, to prove you are planning seriously. Once your application is decided, you can cancel that, with almost no effective cost to you.

My husband filed for Tier 1 VISA and has received his visa. He is planning to fly in June-july time frame as the validity of his visa starts from 1st June. We couldn't file for me as a dependent at the time of filing his T1 VISA, as we were short of the necessary fund maintanence that had to be shown for the filer and dependent.
Now my query in this regard is, what is the process to file for Dependent VISA now that we have the necessary funds. And is it advisable to file for it once he is in UK?
Also, as dependents can Work in UK, is there any differnce in terms of remuneration/value etc if you are on dependent VISA, if I have the necessary skills?

Any help in this regard is much appreciated.

Hi swatisanganeria,

1. The same amount of savings(if not sufficient to meet requirements for both of you) can't be used for your visa application. If you apply now(either from India or UK), the funds you show have to be in excess to those shown for your husband.

2. It is better you file before he leaves for the UK, because the number of checks that HO does, would increase. The chances of stamping are more in the initial application. But, since your husband's already got it done, you can still apply now. Once he's in UK, he has to show proof that he has sufficient place where you could be accomodated(once you arrive to UK).

3. AFAIK, there is no difference in pay package, as employers are bothered only about valid permission for you to work in the UK. It depends on your skills and expertise, and not to exclude luck.
