no walkins for biometrics of joint applicants?

Post by meetalisharma7 » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:31 pm

Hi,

Me and my husband have applied for HSMP on 3rd February. We got letter that we need to enroll for biometrics today, that is 16th feb. It says that we should book and appointment with home office to get biometrics done. I heard that it can be done in walkin post offices and its paid.

We are ready to pay as the next available appointment is on 1st march, which will delay our application by 15 days :(

but it looks like only single applicants can go to walkin biometric enrollment centers and get it done and not joint applicants like me and my husband.

is it true?? we have booked an appointment anyway. its just too sad that we'll have to wait for 15 days.

is it? My case is similar as me and my wife have applied for tier 1 general and i was under the impression that we can go to post office for biometrics and get it done same day. If we cannot get it done at the post office, can someone let us know, what is the waiting time to get the appointment for biometrics. Till now we have not received the letter from home office asking for the biometrics, but we are expecting it soon. please advise about the waiting time.

Here you go Meetali..Applicants with dependants aged 6 or over can enrol their biometrics at the South Shields branch, if they have received a letter to confirm that the service is available to them.

See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/conta ... enrolment/

It is correct that the post office service is currently only available for single applicants except at South Shields if you have a letter confirming the service is available to you.

The waiting times for appointments vary depending on the enrolment centres/PEOs

@ sanjeev - sorry for the late reply, yea south shields is an option, but only when it is mentioned in the letter. which is not our case unfortunately.

So we are just waiting for 1st march to arrive.

I just heard from a guy who got biometric letter today and appointment is available on 21st March, so its like around 25 to 30 days waiting time for him which is worse then ours which is 14 days.
