Spouse visa application - job probation period

Hi.

Im a UK citizen. My wife is an Iranian citizen. I'm about to apply for a
spouse visa application for her.

Here are the facts.

- I have been unemployed since September 2011
- I started my new job on Monday. I work as a corporate solicitor.
- My probation period for my job is 3 months.

My question is this: is it possible to apply for spouse visa while I'm in the middle of my probation period?

Employment is not a mandatory requirement. You merely need to show that you have adequate resources to support yourself and your partner. A person with reasonable savings, a good historical cash flow and having recently started new job should have no problem.

Could you please give me values for 'reasonable savings'?

I have an ILR and a permanent job with a decent salary. I want to bring my foreign wife here. I have checked the UKBA website and it says that I need to show that I have maintenance funds for 27 months.

But I dont know how much this amounts to as I can't find what each month is worth! Could somebody please give some guidance on this?
