Living in Sweden, working in the UK - Visa help please

Post by swish » Sun Jan 15, 2012 12:18 pm

I'm a South African citizen currently on an EEA Family permit here in London. I've recently received my permanent residence card for Sweden as my swedish wife and I are moving to Sweden in May.

I will still be working for my English company and therefore will need to return to London for a week every month. I'm struggling to find specific information on what visa I need, any help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks!

Check this thread. Although your case is slightly different. I assumed you applied under the Swedish national immigration rules (as a spouse of a Swedish national) and not under the EU rules. You also don't hold a PR status in an EU state.

Thanks for the link Jambo. Yes correct, I applied under the Swedish national immigration rules (as a spouse of a Swedish national).

I suspect that as your employer would be a UK based company, you will need authorisation to work in the UK. A tier-2 visa might be the best option for you.

Thanks again Jambo, I'll look into the tier-2 visa requirements.

I've just spoken to the Home Office and they said that I will need a business visitor visa.
