Tier1 Extension Dates

Hi All
My current visa is expiring in May 2014, could I go for Renewal well before a month like could I go for it in February 2014 or should I only go 30 days before my visa expiry date.
Any advise is highly appreciated.

You can go any time before the expiry. You visa might be 2/3 years from the day of approval rather than the current expiry.
They generally ask you the reason for extending well in advance. If they are satisfied with your reason, they might give from the expiry date.

My case is as that of you. visa expiring in May. I am planning to go for an extension in March. I need 1 year 2 months for ILR. Hence doesnt matter what date they give the visa.
