Visitor Visa - Supporting Documents

Post by ramvellore » Sun Jan 05, 2014 7:04 pm

Hi,

I am planning to invite my inlaw and presently I am contractor (self employed) with my limited company. Since I do not get payslips, please confirm the documents I can send to support the family visitor visa application.

I have heard friends mentioning I can get a letter from accountant, but not sure what should the letter content be. Appreciate if someone can share their template or guide through the procedure?

Thanks

If you are financially sponsoring them - then you need to show proof of your income.

So that'd be bank statements, dividend slips, audited accounts etc.

It really depends on how your company is being run!

Thanks but I will be sponsoring their stay in uk and not the travel. I am planning to show approx £2000 in my bank account.

I am not sure with the dividend slips, etc you have mentioned. please explain.

Also, does anyone know if all the documents (bank account statements, pay slips) need to be original or certified copies or just copies would suffice? I seem to be getting conflicting information about this, and since there is no right of appeal for such applications any more, it's very important to get it right the first time.

Thanks so much in advance!

In response to the OP - if you don't understand these terms you really need to go and see your accountant to get him to explain until you do - then go and see a second accountant and make sure the first one isn't ripping you off.

In response to the other poster - send as many originals as possible, certify copies where possible and only send uncertified copies on completely un-essential documents.
