Is bank contact mandatory in bank statements?

Post by mclrajan » Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:39 am

I am going to apply this friday. I have the bank statements in dot matrix format. Bank logo , bank name and address are shown in the statement. But the contact details of bank is missing. Is it mandatory to show it?

Yes. You should adhere to the guidelines. If HO wishes to contact your bank they should have details handy. Without details they cannot make out whether transaction details you have provided are genuine or not. I would also get bank stamp/sign on each paper of the statement especially when it is dot matrix printout.

Even I bank with Natwest and I had the same problem. Ask the branch people to raise a request for a statement which comes by post and you will receive a statement with all details in post. This will take around a week and you will be good to go. They say they will charge 5 pounds but they did not charge me. Dont know why..

Hi,

As per my knowledge bank statements should have bank logo, account number, account holder name and statement date must be there. And each and every page should attest by bank authority.

Thanks

Thing is I would not have time to get the post statements in time before my appointment, so I have to use print-out for the last week of my claim period.

Natwest said they can provide a letter with the print-out that would have my name and other details on it ..

Would that be good enough ?

Thanks all!

oh natwest is a pain in this aspect, i have seen this.

Below are options,

1. Get a duplicate statement from Natwest ( if you have it posted to the branch, they will get it the next day, so you can go collect it from the branch)

2. Take the printout of transactions in natwest paper, that has their logo. If the details shows your name, account number, statement date, product type etc..

3. If you take the printout in a plain non headed paper, then have it sealed and signed in every page.In addition get the letter from branch manager that they authorize the statements

hope it helps..

My bank statements (dot matrix printout) were stamped and signed by the manager and they did have address of the branch but not the phone number. Dot matrix printouts dont have logo of the bank. Is the address of branch of bank considered suffecient contact detail even if phone number is not there?
