review processing time

Post by sss75 » Fri Jan 06, 2006 12:27 pm

My initial HSMP application was refused on 28 Nov on the matter of failing to provide tax return originals.

On 14 Dec immediatelly after receiving the result from HO I faxed a review request stating that my tax return originals were simply overlooked as I sent both originals and photocopies and only photocopies were assessed. The reason I sent photocopies along with originals was because this is the part of a procedure to translate original documents in my country

On 19 Dec I got a confirmation email where I was assured that the review process should take no more than 2-3 weeks. Same date I made a call to HO to confirm the receipt of my review request - they confirmed the receipt and reassured me that it wouldn't take long to process the review - the time it takes is the same as for the initial application, i.e. one week approx.

I was quite happy with this estimation, but unfortunatelly it is now more than 3 weeks passed since I faxed my review request, I called them 3 times during the last 2 weeks, last time today - they say it hasn't been processed yet, it hasn't even been assigned to any caseworker - they are still in the process of requesting my file from their storage. The reason they give me is that this is because of christmass and new year holydays

I'm starting to think that my entire file could be lost somewhere in HO. I sent an email explaining my situation to hsmp.workpermits@ind.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Basically my questions are:
What else could be done to speed up my review?
How long on average does it take to process review?

Thank you in advance

Unfortunatly there is nothing else you can do but wait for the outcome. You have already called them up and made an enquire and found out that it hasnt been assigned. It is possible their resources might have been streched during the Christmas period and they havent undertaken too many reviews.

MWazir, thanks for your reply

Anybody recently got a decision on a review? How long did it take?

Yes, unfortunately all we can do wait. I am waiting for my review to be processed since the 20th of July!!!! I called them more that 3 times, sent them a number of emails, but ALAS no reply has been received so far....and I DO think it is appauling!!!

The fanniest thing is that I have been waiting for the outcome of my initial application for more than 10 months, and now I have been waiting for 5 months.....In September it will be 2 years as I one perfect day I've decided to migrate to the UK.......Still waiting...... :? Impossible is possible, correct?

It is more than 5 months already! Unbelievable! Especially compared to "2-3 weeks" I was told

Why didn't you try to write a complaint or call to public relations team? I'm not sure it will help but these steps seem natural to me - I'm thinking about making a call to public relation team next week if it is still not processed

Thanks

still waiting too

hey guys, I'm also waiting for a review decision. They received my review application on the 20th October, 2004. Since then, all I've been able to get out of them was the fact that it is with the review team.
I call them on a weekly basis (on the call centre number - 0114 207 4074), however, the guys on the phone can't seem to help me much since all they have access to is a system telling them current status.
I've tried calling the HSMP team directly (01142076020) and I seem to get the same response from them too.
One thing I'm considering doing next time I call is seeing whether my review application has been assigned to a case worker.

Has anyone had any luck with finding this type of information out?

If not, has anyone had any luck with finding out where their application is sitting in the queue?

Thanks

Sorry for dragging you behind, but I'm also considering making an application and misplaced my original tax clearance. But I have a notarised copy and police report and sworn affidafit to the loss of original.

I'm also using wage slips on employer's letter headed and a letter from employer statinng my income within the last one year.

With these 3 Proves, do I stand a chance of getting the claimed points in income section?

I don't know if sss7 didn't send other proves with the photocopies

my review processing times

Post by higgie » Fri Feb 10, 2006 9:48 pm

Hi all,

Further to my post above, this is a post just letting you know my overall review processing times.

Review application was received by teh review team on the 20th October 2005, and the 1st review results were received on the 6th February 2006.

I hope this give others some hope out there. I know what you're going through. Hang in there...

btw, i was contacting the review team on a weekly basis, however, i doubt that all this prodding helped in the end.

Best of luck to all of you..... and I'll see you in the UK
