In this case there is no point of submitting online applications? if the procedure is not completed then application may not move forward as well?

Center may not open for another 1-2 months, and application may just be in pending status?

You MUST submit your application as NORMAL online. It will only be processed however after you enrol your Biometrics when it is sent to UKVI digitally for processing. You will NOT get any response UNLESS your application is sent to UKVI. For now, everyone must apply online and wait until the UKVCAS centers are open

I do not see much of possible benefits if you apply now.
The day of application is the day you submit online and pay, so
1) If you plan to travel after, those days will not be counted among 450/90 absences days (this might be not so important, given that very few people will be going abroad for now)
2) HO seems to indicate they will process applications in the order received (more or less..), so that way you are ahead in the queue once biometrics centres re-open
(however, they cannot look at the applications before they get biometrics and uploaded documents, so it seems that to get ahead in the queue it will be more important to get an early appointment once biometric centres reopen)
3) If you had some travel 5 years ago in April-May-June, it can help you with being in UK the day 5 years before application day rule
Anything else?

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question, but when you apply and send your documents (passport, birth certificate etc) to UK, how can you also bring your passport with you when you go for biometrics?

This is a post for people who apply within the UK given that their application will be handled by UKVCAS. No document is sent anywhere (everything is scanned) Everyone must attend an appointment for biometrics and their documents will be scanned if necessary.

I submitted online applications (myself & wife) for Citizenship, paid fee and uploaded all documents. We were given dead line for Bio-metrics till 29/05/2020. But soon after bookings were stopped. So hopefully we will be able to book our appointment whenever they resume service without any additional costs. It is quite stressful situation but there is no other way around.

Recent announcement: UKVCAS Service Status - Reopening
Following government guidelines and Public Health England advice on COVID-19, UKVCAS, in conjunction with UKVI, will begin a controlled, phased re-opening of Service Points from 1 June 2020.

The government’s response to COVID-19 has meant that many customers who had an existing appointment, prior to the suspension of the service, have had their appointments postponed. With the agreement of UKVI, we will be sending all those customers an email explaining the next steps they need to take to rebook their appointment. If you are in this group and have not already received an email, you may receive one soon. We ask that you continue to check this registered email address for updates.

Unfortunately, if you did not have an existing appointment, prior to the suspension of the service, you will not be able to book an appointment at this time. Please be assured that every customer is important to UKVCAS and we will be reviewing the new approach regularly to assess when we are able to open bookings for all customers. For the latest information on implications for your Visa application, please check UKVI’s Immigration Guidance at GOV.UK

Hello,

Any news as to when centres will be open to those who didn’t book an appointment? I have emailed them but did get a generic response and as usual with no useful information or proper direct answer...
did anyone call them?

Hi All,

I received the standard HO email (below) on 10th June.

Dear MR XX,
Case ID: XXXXXXXX
Thank you for your application to the Home Office. Your application has been received and is being considered.
It may take up to six months to make a decision on your case. If we are unable to process your application within six months we will tell you as soon as possible.
Our web page contains further information on our service standards and other information which may relate to your application.
Please note that this is an automated response confirming receipt of your application and does not accept responses. Please do not reply to this email.
If there is a change in your circumstances, we kindly ask that you only contact us using this link: https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp
Permanent migration team

I assumed you only get this after completing your Biometrics at UKVCAS. Considering I submitted my application on the 5th June and got this email on Monday evening and not able to yet do the biometrics, has the HO changed their process due to Corona Virus issues?

I must stress I have uploaded all the relevant docs on the UKVCAS website.

Thanks

It does clearly state that it is an automated message and many receive it. Nothing has changed in the process and you will still need to do biometrics.

Thank you, That was a swift response. I tried to delete the post after re-reading the info but you were quicker to respond.

Have a good day. :)

I am looking to make an online application to apply for naturalisation. Should I still wait since due to COVID19 UKVCAS isn't giving any biometric appointments to the new applicants OR that situation has changed now and they are giving appointments to new applicants?

You can apply online and wait until UKVCAS opens the slots in their next phase.

Hello,

I have (like every morning) just tried to log in to the UKVCAS website to check if new biometrics appointments can be booked. I think I can manage to log in, however I'm getting an error message saying "Unauthorised - Please login and try again".

I submitted my online application for naturalisation on 15th April and I was advised to attend the biometrics appointment by 17th June, after which they would send me a reminder (which I have not received yet).... Of course I could not even book the appointment due to the covid situation, but I am wondering if the error message is related to my deadline of the 17th June?...or is it just a temporary glitch in the system ?

Could anyone please advise?
Thank you

Now it got even weirder: I can log in and select the UKVCAS centres. For some centres I can't see any appointment and I only get the "Unauthorised - Please login and try again" message. For other centres I can see the dates (no appointment available anyway) but as I scroll across to the latest dates I still get the error message. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Getting the same message. Think it is a system error.. my deadline is sometime in August so don’t think this is specific to your account.

Updated: 19 June 2020 from:
https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-message- ... geId=74833

Making progress

We’re doing everything we can to offer as many appointments to as many people as possible. From Monday 22nd June 2020 onwards, we’ll be releasing more appointments, adding new service points and opening the booking system to more customers in phases based on registration dates.

Taking a phased and organised approach

In order to be fair to everyone, we are now opening up the booking system in date order starting with people who registered with UKVCAS before the 27th March but did not have an appointment. We are working from the earliest to the most recent registrations as we think this is the fairest and best approach to take. If you are one of these customers, you will have an email from us on the 21st or 22nd of June asking you to book an appointment. The email will have full instructions about next actions.

I submitted my application but I can not upload any documents. I think after submission we need to book appointment first and then upload documents. Is that right?

I dont have an appointment but I have upload like half of my documents. You can upload everything and just wait for the appointment system to open for you.
